Letter from the President

Dear IADPO Members:

As Board President of the International Alliance of Dermatology Patient Organizations (IADPO - also known as GlobalSkin) I wish to welcome all of our members to our fall 2019 Newsletter.

Our patient organization community continues to grow and gain momentum at an ever-increasing speed. Our membership now stands at 156 Members located in 50 countries and representing over 60 dermatological disease areas!

Annual General Meeting

IADPO Board of Directors invites you to attend the IADPO Annual General Meeting which is taking place on September 26, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. EST. The Annual General Meeting will inform Members of the highlights from the past year, along with the strategic direction of the organization as we look forward to 2020.

GlobalSkin at the EADV Congress in Madrid

GlobalSkin is proud to be attending the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Congress (EADV) in Madrid, October 9-13, 2019. While at the EADV, GlobalSkin will co-host two sessions; "Building the doctor-patient relationship through effective communication", with the EADV and the second, "How to improve quality of life in atopic eczema beyond the physician consultation", with the European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients’ Associations (EFA).  

GlobalSkin’s Global Research on the Impact of Dermatological Diseases (GRIDD) researchers will also present findings from our phase 1 systematic literature review at an oral poster session. We will also have a prominent presence in Patient Society Village. We look forward to seeing many of our European members in Madrid.

 
Skin Matters Reception at the EADV

September 14th is World Atopic Eczema Day

GlobalSkin is proud to celebrate World Atopic Eczema Day and we invite our members and stakeholders to join us!

Atopic eczema is much tougher on patients than people understand. It seriously impacts patients’ lives beneath the surface of the skin and can severely affect an individual’s health and overall wellbeing. A Communications Toolkit has been developed for your use in the lead up and on World Atopic Eczema Day. We invite you to look beneath the surface of atopic eczema and its impacts on life.

GlobalSkin Members are invited to participate in online E-Learning sessions. Each online webinar tackles a different subject area with a guest presenter followed by interactive dialogue by participants.

Our next Members E-Learning session will be an Advocacy Case Study. Watch your inbox later this week for more details and connection information.

Board of Directors Election

GlobalSkin is holding elections for its Board of Directors on September 26 - October 3, 2019. The slate of candidates standing for election will be announced by email on September 17, 2019.
